Meli provides a range of Youth Homelessness services for young people who have nowhere to live or whose housing is unstable, including crisis housing and financial support.
.
Meli operates the state-wide youth homelessness access points for Colac and Geelong, servicing the Greater Geelong and Colac catchments.
The team provides an immediate response to young people aged between 16 – 24 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and may be sleeping rough, couch surfing or living with family.
Young people can make contact with the team by dropping in to the nearest office or phoning 1800 825 955.
City Limits Refuge
Meli provides short-term crisis accommodation for young people aged 16-20 who have no other immediate accommodation options.
While at City Limits, young people are supported to obtain sustainable medium to long-term accommodation.
This can include a return to family, if safe and appropriate to do so, as well as participating in living skills development including support to engage in or retain their education.
The planned accommodation period for each young person is up to six weeks, however it is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
