The Walk To Empowerment
More than 13,000 children are currently in out of home care across Victoria. At Meli, we receive three referrals per day to place children and young people with a Foster Carer.The Walk To Empowerment
The Walk To Empowerment was a fundraiser led by Katie, a young person who had recently left Foster Care. The concept was simple, to walk as much as you can throughout the month of November and if you can, donate to children and young people in care.
The fundraiser has raised more than $4000 for the Meli Foster a Future fund in 2023.
The Walk To Empowerment is a Better Futures Barwon initiative empowering young people as they transition from care to adulthood.
