Welcome to Yirrama Community Hub!

Opening in Charlemont, Yirrama Community Hub will be a welcoming place for children, families and the wider community to connect, learn and access important services.

Yirrama translates to “in the morning”. Drawing on the Wadawurrung story of Parrwang, the magpie, the hub has been designed as a place grounded in culture, care and community. As the story tells us:
“Deeply listen as the sun rises – you will hear the magpies tell us their name, Parrwang.”

Inspired by the call of the magpie at daybreak, Yirrama symbolises a community awakening and coming together through connection, learning, work and a shared sense of belonging.

Purpose-built to support a growing community, the hub will bring together kindergarten, maternal and child health services, community programs and flexible spaces for community use. 

Available for hire are two large community rooms, a medium meeting room, a smaller meeting space and a commercial kitchen. 

Located alongside Yirrama Primary School, the hub has been designed as a place where families can build connections and feel a strong sense of belonging.
