Meli named finalist in leadership awards

Meli has been recognised for its outstanding leadership and contributions to the Geelong community, earning a place as a finalist in the Future Geelong Leadership Awards.

The annual initiative, led by the Geelong Advertiser in partnership with the Committee for Geelong, celebrates individuals and organisations driving positive change and inspiring others to shape the region’s future.

It was recently announced that Meli is one of three finalists in the Corporate Citizenship Leadership category.

The category honours organisations – large or small – that have shown outstanding or significant leadership in Geelong or the wider region.

Meli’s nomination highlights its impactful work in foster care and other vital community services, addressing critical needs across the Barwon area.

“Meli stands as a leading organisation in corporate citizenship, dedicated to ensuring children in the Barwon region have safe and nurturing homes,” the nomination reads.

“Their leadership is evident in their comprehensive approach to community engagement, offering diverse avenues for support.

“This includes recruiting and supporting foster carers, as well as providing out-of-home assistance to the families of fostered children.

“Meli’s commitment to these vulnerable young people and their families underscores their profound impact and leadership in social welfare within the region.”

The awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday 25 November at 1915 restaurant, where winners will be announced and celebrated for their contributions to Geelong’s growth.

Meli CEO Robyn Hayles said the nomination is an exciting milestone that reflects the dedication and impact of staff across the organisation.
